The expression list is for more than just expressions. You can also use the Add Item menu to add a note, table, folder, or image to your graph. To start, click on the plus sign and then choose the type of item you'd like to add to your graph.
Tip: Try typing the shortcuts ‘table’, ‘note’, “ , ‘folder’ or ‘ticker’ into an expression line.
Note: The ticker is an advanced setting. To enable it, navigate to ‘Advanced’ in your account settings menu. Turn on the ticker with the Actions checkbox.
Adding an Image
Add images to your graph to use as a template, text label, or for a little pop of extra color. To add an image to your graph, start by opening the Add Item menu and choose image. Clicking and dragging the image into the expression list is also supported in many browsers.
Note: Adding an Image is not available in 3D Graphing yet.
To move the image, click on the center point and drag the image to where you’d like to place it. To resize the image, click and drag any one of the outer points surrounding the image. Drag outwards to make the image larger and inwards to make it smaller.
Or, you can manually change the coordinate of the center point in the expression list to move the image so that its center is at that new coordinate point. You can resize the image by adjusting the width and height and you can also adjust the angle or opacity of the image.
Clicking and long-holding the image icon will allow you to adjust the opacity, change whether the image is in front of or behind your graphs, and make the image draggable (or clickable if you have the ‘Actions’ feature enabled in your account settings.)
When you select to make the image either draggable or clickable you are given the option to provide a screen reader label to describe the image.
Using Folders
Use folders to organize your expression list. You can move expression lines into a folder by pressing return or by dragging an expression line into the folder.
Duplicating Any Expression
You can duplicate any expression from the edit list mode (gear icon at the top of the expression list).
Note: Duplicating a folder duplicates all of its contents.
Geometry Toolbar
The Geometry Toolbar found at desmos.com/geometry is the menu along the top containing all of the available construction tools you can use to add items to your graph paper.
You can use the Geometry Toolbar to construct points, various types of lines, circles, angles, and polygons. You can also select items with the select tool (arrow on the left) to edit or transform them.
To work with a geometry object in the expression list, drag its token down from the navigator at the top.
